Hey guys,
We are planning a long weekend trip in December to Key West. Wish it was St John! Oh well...not until April.
Have you got an advise or must do things while there?
Thanks for your help!

Jo Ann, when we were there we really enjoying touring the Hemingway house and Truman's Little White House. Really very enjoyable tours.
Also we did Mallory Square for sunset one night but the other nights we really enjoyed the rooftop bar at a hotel on Duval St.
There was also a great french pastry place on Duval where we got our breakfast from nearly every day and enjoyed it by our pool.
I'm not home right now but when I am I can tell you the names.
here's the hotel http://www.laconchakeywest.com/history.htm
and the pastry

Key West is great! You'll have a wonderful time. I would recommend having a few drinks at Schooner Wharf - great location/atmosphere. Alonzo's at the wharf has 1/2 price drinks and apps at happy hour....oysters are good.
Go to the sunset celebration at least one night. Neat performers, wonderful sunset views. One of my favorite "low key" things to do is just get lost on some of the side streets and admire the homes and gardens.

Many years ago we were at the Key West sunset gathering down at the waterfront enjoying all manner of performers etc.
There were 2 guys there in full Scottish garb with the kilts, high socks, etc.
I think one was playing a bagpipe or something and the other was doing what seemed like traditional Scottish/Irish dancing. During one particular exuberant twirl, we all did a double take as we realized he had nothing on underneath (!)
Later on a sailboat went by close to shore right before sunset and several women removed their shirts to show off their assests.
Only in Key West...
I don't know if its still THAT "entertaining"!

When we come to place where the sea and the sky collide
Throw me over the edge and let my spirit glide

We were there on a cruise last year and experienced the sunset gathering and a pub crawl! Both were nice in their own ways. The sunset was surreal and the pub crawl was crazy! We had a good group so it was really fun! If I could remember the names of the bars we went to I would suggest a few but my memory is a lot fuzzy!
