jayseadee - I bought the Quick Grits in the Blue box. Says they cook in about 5 minutes. I used the Quick Cheese Grits recipe on the back. I omitted the garlic powder. Plus, for the cheese, I put in a cup of the 4 cheese mexican blend from Sargenteno. If I need shredded cheese, which I don't cook with a lot of cheese, I just use that because we use it for quesadia's. (sp) I cooked the grits for about 6 mins, took off the heat and added the cheese. It melts immediately.

I am a huge Old Fashioned Oatmeal eater. Sorry you don't like it. I like soupy oatmeal and goopy oatmeal. Doesn't matter.
