That is an awesome pic, Ruth. The funny thing is, I know all of the songs on that list. When I look at the top 10 list today, I haven't even heard of most of the artists. I think that's a sing of age. :(

 Lovin that.

Yup, it was pretty funny! Ironically, my Mom said to me the night before the wedding: "No wedding is perfect. Something is going to go wrong, and when it does, just relax and let it go." Well, at least I got the "gone wrong" part out of the way early!

Your wedding photo is hysterical. This is turning into one of my favorite threads.

kygirl, how come that guy in the pictures keeps getting older but you just get hotter!!! Seriously, I want your genes (jeans?).

liamsaunt, though I was 5 years too young to be a goth, I am looking for pictures of me with my eyebrow, cheek and ear pierced with safety pins at a 1979 NYC punk show. Perhaps my mother burned them.

VickiH, I think you are channeling Pat Benatar with long hair. Do yo sing?

This is too funny. I'll add a few more of Sweet Christine and I from 1979 when webshots comes back up.

Cheers, RickG

Ruth - You look like an escapee from the Partridge Family! LMAO! "Margaritaville" was in 1977?!?! Looks like Jimmy Buffet had it figured out way before I ever did!

Cypress - I loved the 80's too! I'd go back in a second if I could do it without having to perm my hair.

Oh this is so fun! All you ladies look so stylish and put together.

Here's the youngest of me that I've uploaded. I think I must have been about three.
I was a Grandma's house because she let me drink soda "out of a can" and my mother would never allow that! :)

It's not as exciting as it sounds. Basically, my parents rented an antique Rolls Royce to take me to my wedding. Well, halfway up a very steep hill on the way to the church, the rear axle gave out. Actually, it snapped! I watched the entire wheel and half the axle roll away into the woods. Thankfully, the car had been going slowly, so nooone was hurt. BUT, we were stuck. In the woods. With no cell phones, because it was 1997, and we were all luddites then.

So, there I was, on the way to my wedding, and the car was dead, and we had no phone, and I was GOING TO BE LATE. There is nothing more I HATE than being LATE!!

Finally, a cop car went by, just on its normal patrol, the way cop cars do. My Dad flagged the car down, and the officer said he would go ahead and tell the limo that had brought the bridal party to the church to come back and pick me up. Well, I said, NO WAY, since I was going to be LATE, to my OWN WEDDING, so I asked (bridezilla demanded!) that the policeman to just bring me to the wedding.

He thought I was weird, but he did bring me, and he radioed ahead to the dispatch, and had them call the church so everyone knew I was coming in a police car. All the guests were out on the steps when I arrived in my special conveyance, and the policeman put the lights on for a special, "added" effect.

That was my first, and hopefully last, ride in a police car! The worst part was that the back of a police car is basically a big plastic shell. There was nothing to hold on to at all. so every time the cop went around a bend I would just sliiiiiide from one end of the car to the other! My cop car arrival made all the local papers. I got back from my honeymoon and had an interview request from the Boston Globe! I guess it's a rare bride that arrives to her wedding in a cop car. :D

I know I'm not the only one who keeps coming back here hoping for the story of Blushing Ex-Goth Bride Liamsaunt Going to the Chapel with Her Police Car Escort.
Do you think she's going to tell us or what? If we wait much longer, we'll have to make something up....
