Anyone else have the winter blues?
Teddy Salad: Your pictures are just fantastic! What a beautiful landscape!
I'm used to the seasons too and mostly like the change. I like the spring, when the trees come into leafs, the summer on a beach and with the long evenings outside, the autumn with all the beautiful colours and homely comfort, and the winter, when the landscape are covered with snow, and the sun is shining. But, but it’s not always so here. Sometimes in spring and summer it mostly rains, and many times in winter, you don’t have snow and sunshine, only grey and windy weather. Then I wish I were living in another place!

I have to agree with everything Marcia said - I live only a few miles from her. We have great summer's here, but this winter has just about put everyone on edge. Today I'm happy it's going to be 28 degrees. By Monday, we're expecting another rain/snow/ice storm. Yippee!!
The roads are so icy that I can barely make it up a small hill down the road and there are so many pot holes in the roads not ice covered - although those remind me of STJ!
Here's a few pictures from last Sunday's ice storm...

Beautiful pictures, Teddy!
I love the seasons too, and would definitely miss them if we moved. I just wish my favorite seasons were a little longer.
In my ideal world, there would be two months of winter--but only the kind of winter that is cold without the harsh driving winds, no ice, no slush. Just light fluffy snow (and since this is a fantasy, the snow only accumulates on yards and such, never on the roads or driveways).
Then about three months of spring--late April to early May type weather, when it is starting to get nice and warm and you can smell the grass growing and the rain is just a light mist, when it rains at all (and it never rains sideways!)
Three months of summer, but it would magically never be humid, and the temperature would stay right between 82-85 degrees, except at night, when it would be cooler and there would be a nice breeze.
Then four months of cool, crisp fall, complete with spectacular foliage and a couple of indian summer days thrown in for good measure.
Oh well, I can dream, I guess.

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
I loved your seasonal pictures too Teddy Salad. It gave me an idea. I think that I will do that in my back yard and take 4 of the same shot.
Here is what we had a few weeks ago.
A little of it melted, but it pretty much still looks like this.

I've had it with winter...and I live in NC where we don't really have winter. But, with by travels back and forth to NJ, I've seen enough of it.
We need the rain that's been falling all day, but it's yucky. I want warm weather.
Ooh look...I'm booked to fly to FLA next Tuesday..for 3 days of work...before I head to Boston. That's fun, Raleigh to NJ to FLA to Raleigh to Boston in a span of 9 days.
Shoot me.

mbw1024, California Girl, linne, Maggy, liamsaunt, sea-nile - Glad you liked the seasonal series.
My dog seems to prefer winter.

Well, it seems misery loves company . It's so nice to know I am not alone. Some of you have it much worse than myself in Michigan . I never though I would see the day when I thought temps in the 30's were "warm".
Teddy, your dog has a beautiful face, not that I could tell from the snow picture . What breed is that?
I don't want to start a political discussion, but my husband and I were joking about "global warming" this morning. Not feeling it here!
Marybeth, your house is so cute. Hope you are soon not feeling "blue".

CG, no I have not seen that video. She likes snow and cold weather for sure.
Brenda, she is a Collie/Australian Shepherd mix. We got her at a shelter when she was 9 months old. She's 2 1/2 now and is a bit of a brat, but very smart and lots of fun. We think she's quite the fine looking lady and are trying to figure out how to get her on a Purina box.

Teddy, Rick and I love your dog, too! She's beautiful. Australian Shepherds are my favorite dogs. Here's the URL for the snow dog video. I watched it again, and the dog doesn't look at all like your dog... except for the head in the snow part

Cute video of the dog, Margo. And great shots, Teddy Salad. For a short moment, at least, it makes me want to go out and appreciate the winter beauty (unfortunately, our entire driveway is covered in ice, so I'll probably slip on the way).
And I think Id like to live in Liamsaunt's fantasy climate.
