Actually got off our butts and did something interesting yesterday. Some friends of ours have a dinghy and they invited us to go with them to Honeymoon. They brought the beer, we showed up with snacks.

We headed out around 4:30 or so. It was a calm little ride, past some really huge cats and into Honeymoon. Marcia and I had never been there. It was wonderful to sit on that secluded beach, watch the sunset and to have the chance to talk with good people. I normally don't like people...these are the exception. Thus far, that was the highlight of this trip.

On a totally unrelated and random note...Dr. Pepper is a surprisingly good mixer.

We did a "sunset sail" tonight on a cat called Calypso. Ruth and Ron were kind enough to come with us...it was a first for all of us.

On the plus side, it was a beautiful evening and the sail around Lovandgo gave me a feel for the islands I never had appreciated. I think we all felt that the scenery, outside the boat, was special.

On the downside, the scenery inside the boat was nothing short of surreal. We had the misfortune of booking the same night as a wedding party of 16. The bride and groom, and most of their guests, were pretty darn nice. But, there was this one girl. She wasn't altogether attractive. Once the sail got underway, she removed her pants, which normally is a good thing. Not in this case. (she did have nasty bikini bottoms on). Now, I don't want to incite the tattoo crowd, but she had a butterfly way to close to the promised land and some other "artwork" where it shouldn't belong.

As the sail progressed and her painkillers kicked in, she proceeded to do a pole dance on the main upright holding up the canopy. It was darn obvious that she and pole dancing were not strangers. She managed not to hurt herself and even stumbled away with a few sweaty one dollar bills proudly tucked away...god knows where.

Yup, life is like a box of chocolates...you never know when you're gonna get a nut...or something like that.

But wait, there's more. Pete, given his position on said sunset cruise, was the designated Head Master. This meant that he was in charge of being sure that the folks heading down to the head, didn't hit their head (be sure to go down the stairs backwards) and remind them that there is a door to the head which they should utilize. It's amazing how many men feel they do not need to have privacy using the head but, the good thing is that, well, if you follow the play on words here, none were seen.

Oh, and if you ever listen to someone tell you tales about St. John, from a charter, don't believe a word you hear. Once this "first mate" found out he was with locals, he bared his soul and shared that he has been extremely creative with the stories he has told of the island's history. Kind of sad, really. These things he does not for the tourist's fun but for his own. HA HA, they don't know squat. They'll believe anything I say!

I do not want to make it out like it was a bad experience. It most certainly wasn't. We were with our good friends, we had a fantastic sail (yahoo, my first ever and it was so easy) and being on the water like that, was amazing.

Time for this head to go to sleep.

Here's what I got to see as "Headmaster"

That's one of the upsides of booking a private charter. At least if you take your clothes off you're with friends and they talk about you anyway so what the hell? Did Pete give the "Pole Girl" a dollar?

No. As depressed as the dollar is today, it was still too much to give. She simply wasn't worth it.

Nope, no photos of the pole dance. Just imagine a dank strip club on the edge of a trailer park, during the middle of the afternoon. The dancer has had one too many Dr. Peppers and has the creep of cellulite on her ass. Now, transfer the scene to a boat in the middle of the Caribbean in broad daylight. There...that was what it was like...except a tad more pathetic.

Actually, the funniest part was when she tried to go upside down on the pole, but the canopy was too low. That kind of cramped her routine.
