I need a favor...a poultry-related favor

Post by pipanale »

I need everyone to post a response to this thread.

In the response, you are to do one or many of the following:

Cluck like a chicken
Post an image of a chicken
Post a recipe for chicken
Tell a chicken-related story.

Trust me...it will be very funny and we may get one of our beloved forum-mates to have a full and total breakdown.

Many years ago I attended the wedding of a coworker. There were a ton of kids that kept yelling "play the chicken dance"
The DJ came over the mike and said "sorry kids, the bride has asked that we don't play the chicken dance"
A little boy about 5 ran up to the dj, grabbed the mike and yelled "the bride sucks. I want Chicken dance!'

We all busted out laughing and the DJ played the chicken dance.

My chicken related story - and it is true!
When my Mother was a young mother of five, she forgot to thaw the chicken for dinner. This was in the days when milk was delivered to your door. The milkman heard a thump, thump coming from in the house and alerted my mom. She told him not to worry, it was just the chicken thawing in the dryer.
To this day she swears it was the tenderest chicken ever!

When I was a little girl I couldn't say the "ch" sounds well. My mom would often take me to Bluebird Gap Farm and I LOVED the chickens. I would beg her to let me go "shase the shickens". To this day they will say this to me. I was all of 2.

Better than my girl who struggled with the "c" sound. It came out as a "p" instead. Her favorite vegtable, corn. So often we'd hear "Mmmmmmm yummy yummy ... porn"!

On our honeymoon, we adopted a flock of chickens. We were staying at this old Bermuda hotel (gone now) that was mostly empty, and we were the youngest people there by, oh, about 20 years. The staff would always greet us by saying "Hi kids!" when we came back from wherever.

Well, the beaches at this hotel were not very good, but one day while hiking in the surrounding areas, we found a very good beach, but you had to go through some scrubland and there were a lot of chickens there. For some reason, the chickens started following us around. So, every day when we would hike through on the way to the beach the chickens would join us, and come down to the beach with us. Not onto the sand, but to the edge of it. They'd hang out there while we swam and then follow us back through the scrubby area to their nesting place. There were about 10 of them. I have pictures but they are film so I can't post them.

Finally, here are some St. John chickens:

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

My little brother was attacked by a chicken at the pumpkin farm when we were little. He must have been 4 or so, crouched down low, said "Hello, little chicken", and the thing charged him, startled him so he fell over backward onto the ground and the chicken climbed right up on top of him and started pecking. Thankfully, Mom wasn't far away and shooed the chicken off.

I don't know if this counts as a chicken but it qualifies as poultry or foul.

This guy showed up at our office one day and has been hanging out for about a month.

He spends his day pecking at hubcaps and crapping in front of the door.

This gets sung:

Oooooh, I had a little chicken and it wouldn't lay an egg
So I ran hot water up and down its leg
And the little chicken cried and the little chicken begged
Then the little chicken layed a hard boiled egg!!
