But do you really believe there can be a comparison between Obama and HITLER? YOU terrify ME! Especially the idea that there more of you out there. Only a few steps away from the skinheads in their white tuxedos. No, I'm not calling you a racist, just WAY out there.
First, no. Obama is not Hitler, nor did I compare him to Hitler. I said that the people following him are so blinded by all of his promises and soaring rhetoric that I really don't think they even know what they are voting for. Other than of course, anybody but Bush.

Someone asked the question the other day of the Obama supporter's on this forum...Which of his many "changes" or promises are you most looking forward to in your life? Which will help you the most?

I never saw any answers to that. I suspect "renewing our place in the world" will be one. Well, we know that has been a democratic talking point for at least 25 years. Nothing new - just a new messanger with better oratory skills, a beautiful smile, charisma to burn, and obvious intelligence. An empty suit nonetheless.

I do believe that if there is any comparison at all to Hitler, it is that they are both a bit narcissistic. Obama clearly thinks very highly of hiself, and will do and say anything to get elected.

As for me having a self-satisfied exitence driven by money - well, lets add them up.

So far...I am an annoying immature racist lacking gravitas, who is scared of change because I have only lived a comfortable, dollar centered, self-satisfied existence, who's tone is utterly abrasive and condescending.

I know I missed a few, but, that about sum it up?

Who needs to see a shrink, when one can get diagnosed for free over a three week period on the VIOL board? It's why this is the greatest place on the Internet-S.

You guys supporting Obama are akin to the Jews on the trains headed to Auschwitz. You think everything will be okay...You think you're "just going away for a bit"...You think you'll be going home soon...You think your house will still be there when you get there...All of this despite the obvious intentions of the leader leading you down the primrose path. There, I said it. A bunch of sheep, led by Keith Olbermann.
I will say this one more time in hopes that you pull your foot out of your mouth and your head out of your backside. ENOUGH ALREADY. I AM SICK AND TIRED OF BEING INSULTED BY YOU.

I know that many people have said that at the end of the day they would like to sit down and have a beer with you on STJ. I do not agree with them. I can not imagine wasting a second of my vacation with someone that continually insults me and my choices. You do not know the people that you choose to judge and label. How very superior of you to make generalizations about strangers.

HISTORY 101

For those that don't know about history ... Here is a condensed version:

Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter.

The two most important events in all of history were the invention of beer and the invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to the beer. These were the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups:

1. Liberals, and
2. Conservatives.

Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were formed.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to B-B-Q at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the Conservative movement.

Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly B-B-Q's and doing the sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement.

Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became known as girlie-men. Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy, group hugs, and the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that conservatives provided.

Over the years conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the jackass.

Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare. Another interesting evolutionary side note: most of their women have higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood ,sail boaters, and group therapists are liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule because it wasn't fair to make the pitcher also bat.

Conservatives drink domestic beer, mostly Bud which now has been bought by gay Germans. They eat red meat and still provide for their women. Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, athletes, members of the military, airline pilots and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to America . They crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more for nothing.

Here ends today's lesson in world history:

It should be noted that a Liberal may have a momentary urge to angrily respond to the above before forwarding it.

A Conservative will simply laugh and be so convinced of the absolute truth of this history that it will be forwarded immediately to other true believers and to more liberals just to tick them off.

And there you have it. Let your next action reveal your true self.

Does anyone here remember who made this statement:

"I will never take the low road to win the highest office in this nation"?

Sox, you have likened Veterans supporting Obama to lemmings and the rest of us supporting Obama to Jews on the trains to Auschwitch. Those are your words. You can try to restate them all you like but you made those statements. No one else here. Add all the context you would like but there is no escaping that your language is hateful.

I trust that great men and women in this country like Colin Powell and Madeleine Albright are not blind to the realities of the world and what is at stake in this election.

Are we to believe that you see the world more clearly then the scores of even republicans endorsing Obama?
(see http://www.republicansforobama.org/?q=node/3341 for a full list).

I don't adore Obama. I don't listen and follow blindly. I don't call him the one, or the Messiah. Those are words coming from your side.

Sox you are entitled to your beliefs. That you can believe what you will is your right in this great country. But know that it is hateful, incidiary words like yours that created an environment that brought us the assassinations of Martin Luther King, Jr., Robert F. Kennedy, and John F. Kennedy, Jr.

I think RFK said it best, "What is objectionable, what is dangerous, about extremists is not that they are extreme, but that they are intolerant. The evil is not what they say about their cause, but what they say about their opponents.

Another great quote you should consider, “Progress is a nice word. But change is its motivator. And change has its enemies.”

Those of us voting for change are not naive, uninformed lambs to the slaughter. A spirit and movement for change is more than a presidential hopeful's promise, or a specific policy, or a change to the tax code. Much much more. I see a man who every day risks his life quite literally to bring a new message and a new hope to this nation. Will he be a perfect president, should he be elected, definitely not. No one is perfect. He is human. I know that, his supporters know that. To demonize him is to lessen your argument against him. You would have been much better suited to keep arguing about his experience or his tax plan instead of likening him to Hilter. You say you didn't but saying we are like the Jews on the train if we support him ... the end is coming ... the sky is falling ... very much the same thing.

If McCain wins on Tuesday, I will not be horrified. I will be disappointed, but I will accept it and move on. I truly worry about you, and those who believe as you do, as to what you will say and do should Obama win.

you know soxfan , don't you think it's kind of ironic that here you are harpingon the evils of the 'socialism' that an Obama administration would bring, and yet, your job and your industry --pretty much to the exclusion of ALL others in the "for profit' sector have gained the most from socialism (as it is practiced here)?
