In honor of the rain..what to do on STJ when it rains?

Just in case the folks on island right now need suggestions on how to spend their vacation

Drinking, napping, and "quality" time with your loved one excluded

They can come clean my house they Les will make you his world famous "knickers off margarita's" :) :) :)

All joking aside, rent a movie maybe, buy cake mix and make brownies (always fun scraping the brownie mix out of the bowl) and enjoy with a cup of Ruths Kiss Of the Jumbie Coffee, read a great book, put on the music, loud, and have a dance with your loved one

Sit on a covered porch/deck and read. Of course, this necessitates leaving the kids at home, like IN VIRGINIA home.

Go to Skinny's for a burger and see how the roof is holding up in the rain.

A long lunch while people watching, supplemented with drinking which then may lead to X's other two exclusions.

in no particular order....

shopping,
watch a movie,
read a book,
re-discover why you fell in love with your significant other/spouse in the first place (get creative)...

just sayin...

Last week when it rained, we swam in Trunk Bay singing songs with the word "Rain" in them to the other 12 people on the beach. "It's Raining Men" was my personal favorite so thanks to the lady on the beach who shouted out that request :D

Of course, that was just on and off downpours, not like the all day rain they are having today.

Paula, Purple Rain would have been my favorite (big Prince fan here). Sounds like you were a great sport in the rain.

As long as it's not torrential... I never understoood why people get out of the water when it starts raining... I mean you're wet anyway...

Nancy B - Purple Rain was definitely on the play list. I actually really enjoyed our rainy day at Trunk. My only regret is that I didn't have an underwater camera to capture the raindrops dancing on the water - it was soooo cool.

I actually like having a rainy day for a change of pace. Maybe not rain like what is happening right now though! Here are some things that we usually do when it rains:

Read a book on the covered porch
Take a nap
Share a bottle of nice wine
Cook something yummy
Take another nap
Play board games or cards
Break out the watercolors
Read the villa's guest log
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

Once we got Margo and gang on their way I brewed some gourmet coffee, read, took a nap while listening to the rain pummel the tin roof, woke up, had a vodka and cranberry, played strip monopoly with Crash, grilling marinated pork loin and chillin'. I'm havin' a blast!
