has anyone used this camera?
fugi/FinePix Z33WP
I can't seem to find any reviews on this waterproof camera. I'm thinking of buying either this camera or the canon powershot D10. the Fugi is better priced; however the reviews of it on Best Buy won't come up. if someone has pictures with this camera could you also post them for me.
thank you
Samantha

I bought the Canon D10 this summer. I did take pictures with it on a trip to the Florida Keys, but unfortunately no underwater pics. I did try it in our pool, and the pics of the kids swimming were incredibly clear! If you want to see some of the Fla Keys pics, go to http://www.dwarrenphoto.com/p622408131 . Most were taken with the D10.
It is a great little camera for the money. I love it because you do not have to worry about underwater cases, etc. It can go in any kind of situation,

I've been looking at underwater cameras also. Here is a link for a review of several new "rugged" cameras that I found. The Canon D10 looks preferable. I also check CNet for tech product reviews & pricing.

Looks like u all had a wonderful time ! Great looking family & those sunsets were awsome ! have been checking this camera out also. Thanks for the info.
Been reviewing underwater cameras for the past 3 weeks now - I've read both good and bad reviews for each camera listed in the DP Review link posted above.
I found some great video's on youtube if you do a search for any of those cameras. Very tempting knowing they hold up for some people. Others have issues after 3 days of using it on their trip. These cameras leak and wipe out the memory card - leaving you picture-less.
I'm now stuck on the Sealife brand of cameras - a little more pricy than what I initially wanted to spend, but making underwater cameras is what this company specializes in. I'm thinking of getting the DC800 if I can find it - apparently, that one is hard to find!

I bought the Fugi pix last June to replace an underwater Olympus that worked twice and broke - then the warrenty replacement nrver worked underwater and they would only replace for 100 bucks. Anyway I used the Fugi for 2 weeks in July in St john and it took FABULOUS pics both out of water and underwater. I even got an octopus pic. The price is half the olympus and it is soooo much better and sooo much easier to use.

This topic seems to come up once a year. Just to give you the benifit of forum vet opinions, the consensus was that the best quality and value always came from a regular digital camera with the optional addition of an underwater case. Maybe someone with better topic search skills can post a link to the past discussions.
I previously had the underwater housing unit for my camera and it worked great- until a tiny bit of seaweed got in the ring and allowed salt water in. Destroyed camera. I now have the Canon D10- it is great!! I have used it many times and so far no problems. I would recommend it. If anyone wants a salty camera and a used under water housing unit- let me know!
