High Surf?

Post by surfnh »

north shore on STJ should pick up some real high waves starting by noon today. There will be 8' swells arriving at Cane Garden Bay late morning. The big swell will last into tomorrow at which point it will start decreasing in size. I would expect surfers at Cinnamon and some decent waves at Trunk.

Anyone out there to confirm?

I think it is unusual to get some surf in STJ - right? We were there in April 2 years ago and our son rented a board at Cinnamon and was able to catch a few waves - it was very fun! Are there many/any locals that surf on STJ? Do they go over to Tortola when the surf is high?

We get big north swells off and on all winter. April is on the late side. Yes, lots of people surf here now (a recent development) but there's not many places the break is far enough off-shore to get much of a ride. Many do go to Tortola--the early ferry was jammed today.
