Thanks to the people in the boat who were yelling at me that there was a shark coming towards me so I was ready to shoot a picture when he came in my direction...or maybe they were warning me to get out of the water? I got another couple of shots in that I'll post when I do my trip report.
YIKES! If someone told me there was a shark coming I'd get my butt out as fast as I can... I wouldn't be brave enough to take a picture! On second thought, I would be so afraid I would probably forget how to swim and become shark food!!
In all seriousness, is there anything in the oceans around St. John I really need to be afraid of?
cmw, I think the things to look out for around STJ are the currents and the surges. It seemed mighty current-y last week by Deavers and such. My last dive (of 10) was on Friday and I'm still tired.
Great shot, Mrs. Cherry! You're braver than I am. I saw one about the same size between Francis and Maho a couple years ago, and shot out of the water like a geyser!
Looks like my lawyer! “You know why sharks don’t bite lawyers – professional courtesy.” Sorry if any of you out there are lawyers, but I’m sure your heard the joke before.

Bert, I hope nobody was walking by my office when I read your post. You made me bust out laughing! I am with you all the way. I know my luck is going to run out sooner or later I just hope that when it does I can keep from panicking too bad. Thanks to all the photos I have seen on this forum I am slightly less petrified as they have all survived to post their pictures. Thank you all you brave people!
