Bert's Trip Reprt - Day 5 & 6 5/24 - 6/3

Trip Report Day 5 & 6

Started the day with omelets. Every other day, we had eggs over easy , today was BIL's day to cook his world famous omelets. Don't know if the breakfast beer has anything to do with it or not...hmmmm.

We decided to drive to Caneel and hike to Honeymoon. We always like to go to Honeymoon Beach, the snorkeling there is not bad.

Saw stingray, turtle, got buzzed by a pelican while snorkeling over to Salmon. Bert tried walking the trail from Honeymoon to Salmon but it was in bad shape after all the rains and run off and hurt his toe. Ouch! Won't do that again in mere sandals!
Went to Tap Room at Mongoose Junction for lunch of hotdogs and potato skins and a little beer of course. Walked to Cruz Bay to St. John Spice and back to Mongoose for one more Bushwacker at the Gecko Bar. Stopped at Starfish Market for a few items for dinner. Had some pool time before dinner of Flat Iron Steaks, couscous, and salad with a little wine of course.

Day 6

Sunday was the Beach to Beach Swim so we decided to skip the beaches and head directly to Coral Bay after eggs over easy breakfast and a little pool time at the villa.

Image

Stopped at Skinneys to pick up a few items in the stores then off to Island Blues for Lunch. Big surprise-Island Blues was closed for cleaning -who would have thought. So back to Skinneys for lunch. Best Blue Burger ever!

Image

Then off to the Tourist Trap for Drink Right Drive Left but, can you believe, they are closed Sunday and Monday. Back to Aqua Bistro and luck being with us, they have a decent Drink Right Drive Left.

On the way back to Cruz Bay, we stopped at Bordeau Mountain for some photos. Never done that before, check another thing off our list of firsts.

Picked up Joe and Nellie Key Lime juice at Lilly's Gourmet Market along with a few other items. Back to Cruz Bay with a stop at Starfish to get the pie shells. Home to make a great Key Lime pie. Got in some pool time after the pies baked. Had a great dinner of troll caught wild Alaskan salmon, aparagus, salad with some good wine. Of course, Key Lime Pie for desert.

Off to bed at our outrageously late hour of ..oh, 9:00pm I think. Somehow it jusr seems right to hit the hay early in Da Islans, Mon!

Nice reports! Just curious, from Caneel how much of a hike to Honeymoon? That one is still on my to do list!! BTW, Just an FYI, but I'm pretty sure that Larry created Drink Right, Keep Left when he worked at Aqua Bistro!!! Great drink!

It's really not that long of a hike, just seems that way when you have coolers full of adult beverages and snorkel gear and beach chairs. It's maybe .07 mile and fairly flat.

You are correct about Larry and the Drink, that is why they offer it at Aqua Bistro!

Your reports crank me up. A breakfast beer doesn't raise eyebrows in our crew.
