Brand Loyalty

Post by BRY1105 »

I thought it would be interesting to find out what everyone's favorite St. John products are. How brand loyal are you? Personally, I am quite loyal to Cruzan (though from St. Croix). I have also found Caribbean Gold Coffee (www.caribbeangoldcoffee.com) from St. John and am thinking about getting some. Anyone ever have it? What are your favorite brands?

We love, love, love Cruz Bay Spice Rub from St John Spice on beer can chicken. We also buy gifts for friends at St John Spice on our last day, it's the least we can do after using her camera all year.

I love Cruzan Rum.
It fills me with happiness that tickles my humors.
My only wish was that they had a "Passion Fruit" flavor like the Malibu brand has. They very well may have it, but I can't find it here.
The rum drinks that I make at home are faithfully made with Cruzan Dark.
When I say "faithfully", it's because it takes my heart to the wondrous memories of that sweet rum in that sweet place. I miss limin' on STJ so much...
It's magic, and my dreams of rum & the beaches always land me there...-with
Smiles-

Another vote for Cruz Bay Grill Rub! I use it frequently, and then start to scrimp as the bottle gets empty. My current bottle is one that someone else brought home for me because I ran out.

I'm also a fan of Valley Doll Hot Sauce. Brought some of that home from our last trip, too.

My favorite "off the wall" is called Alcolada Glacial. It is an amazing cure-all for sunburn, bug bites, sore muscles, fever, after shave.....
We became aware of it through Hamilton Eugene. He is the driver of one of the open air taxi's that pick up at Maho Bay Camps. He worked at Maho for many years buiding the roads and the camp before owning his own taxi. We have been shipping it back from STJ for several years. We found it at Lily's Market in Coral Bay in June of 2010. Not a well known product but definitely a staple in our house for many years. Look for the clear bottle with green liquid.

Trinidad Charlie's hot sauce, regular and key lime flavors

Cruz Bay grill rub, and Sunny Caribbee fish spice both from St. John Spice

I also really like Valley Doll Curry Hot Sauce

And RI Patton for St. John themed jewelery.

St. John coffee???
Yea, I kinda doubt coffee is grown on STJ. My guess is thats just where the company which sells it is located. The company (Caribbean Gold Coffee) uses Connections Coral Bay as its mailing address.

My wife likes St. John Brewer's tropical mango beer. I know, you are probably asking why I do not like it. I can't stand beer. One of the few out there.
