The USVI lost one of our finest on Tues. with the passing of Mr. Guy Benjamin on St John at age 98 - His wisdom, energy and wonderful personality will be greatly missed. http://stthomassource.com/content/news/ ... ies-age-98
I am sorry to hear this sad news. Mr. Benjamin touched many living on the island and many who share the love of his beloved virgin. I never met him; I wish that I had. I know that he will be missed.

Wow, so very sad. He had an amazing life. He was always very kind when we would chat with him. His book is a must for St. John lovers; time to re-read and reflect on a life well lived.
"Aloha" Mr. Benjamin, RIP. Truly a remarkable man that will undoubtedly be missed by many. Condolences to his family and friends and to the island for such a huge loss! Ali~
My husband is a teacher and we were fortunate to get to spend some time with him at his home last spring. He was already ailing but had many wonderful stories to share. We are grateful for all that he did for the children of the VI's and the impact he had on so many people. We treasure the book he gave us.
I posted this on another forum and will do so here as well. There is a great article about Mr. Benjamin on the Caribbean Travel and Life website. I did a search on there and brought up the article. Well worth the read!
