I don't think it is a phony ad but don't know for sure -- it seems like the logical step for STJ with all the wonderful architectural condo improvements in Cruz Bay and the change in visitor demographics.

Re: job opportunities
Has to be a joke, no way does STJ need a McDonalds..
Re: job opportunities
McDonalds on STJ seems quite likely; already there are 6 in the US Virgin Islands. Funny, I never noticed one during my visits to either island.
Not likely that I will in the future.

Re: job opportunities
I can vouch the the three locations in STT although I have never been to them. We laugh at the shack in Frenchtown as it really is a shack. The one in Lockhart gardens, where my therapy office is, is big!

Re: job opportunities
Anyone remember Wendy's ? Before the fire it was where Waterfront Bistro is now.
Re: job opportunities
Can we all agree to boycott any fast food chain that opens on the island?

Re: job opportunities
If it is like any of the other Mickeydees on St Thomas, "fast food" won't be a notable feature. Island time prevails.

Re: job opportunities
I am sure that some small group of people who visit here for a week or so on vacation can band together and 'boycott' fast food chain construction on STJ but residents and most other visitors will provide an ample customer base for one of the most popular and successful franchises worldwide.DonnaM wrote:Can we all agree to boycott any fast food chain that opens on the island?
I am still not even sure if it is a real advertisement - Craigslist is notorious for phony ads. I was hoping a real estate person here on STJ could speak to a lease that may have been signed when I posted it initially.
Re: job opportunities
At a former job, I had several clients that owned multiple franchise outlets. Given the margins and the franchise requirements relating to construction, design, vendors, etc. I can't imagine a Micky d's being economically viable on STJ.

Re: job opportunities
Silverheels thanks so much for mentioning that. I did remember the Wendy's but had thought I was incorrect as it was long ago and no other fast food chains have really been aroung (except Subway for a bit). I have to say I personally have no interest in the fast food joints going to STJ I love all the other wonderful choices and here fast food joints are everywhere!
Re: job opportunities
but wait............ you can get free Rum with every drink purchase
Re: job opportunities
I can get this food at home or any town in the US. When on vacation I tend to eat with the locals. If they turn to this type I guess it's time to move on.
