What a great topic!! I can't believe this has not been asked before. I don't have a favorite. I like to stay someplace different every time we go, but we did stay at a villa in the Maria Bluff area called Bell View, many years ago, and I don't think we have every found a villa with a better view. We actually stayed there 3 times, more than any other place we've ever stayed. Maybe we'll get back there some day.

The next one.

Seriously, "In The Stars" on Majestic Mile in Upper Carolina was my favorite. Killer views, hot tub, private, quiet, way the hell up the hill, but all paved and easy. Now it has a pool and a/c, which it didn't have the two times we stayed there.I can't afford it anymore, unless we did it with a group, whitch it can easily handle.
Now, we also have stayed in some places not quite so majestic. I was just as happy.

Villa Callaloo

Post by tombradybetsy »

Villa Callaloo. Styled like a west indian house of years ago. Wooden. Upper carolina. It is one of the true bargains of the island. http://stjohnvillarental.com/finder/show.php?id=113
Totally open to the tradewinds.

And for a villa with beautiful stonework inside the great room, you have to like Villa Claudia. I have friends staying there right now, and just spoke to them. http://stjohnvillarental.com/finder/show.php?id=78

But then again, I like all the villas on st john. Except palm terrace. No views and all closed in.
I will be rooting for the beloved Patriots again next year.

We've stayed at:

Odessa
Coqui
Belvedere
Golden Dragon
Argonauta (2 times)
Cinnamon Tarn (2 times)
Caneel Bay (6 times)
Gallows Point (2 times)

For our next trip, (in 6 days!) we are at Orchid Hill, La Mer (Coral Bay), and Caneel Bay.

My favorite house is probably Cinnamon Tarn. But, I have a list of houses I want to stay in someday that is about a mile long...so maybe that will change.

Liamsaunt- I like ya'll's taste in villas....

I really like the look of La Mer too....you mean this one...right?

Please, please, please take some pics to share after the trip. I considered La Mer to be a "Bordeaux Villa" and couldn't find much info on it...or figure out exactly where is it, ...I love the look of the place. Enjoy your visit!

I thought I replied but must have hit a wrong button since it never showed up! Our favorite is Monte Bay. Wow - loved everything about it! Our first ever villa was Belle View which we loved, but it hasn't been available on the rental market for a long time.
