Well, luckily there is no "magazine layout person/staff writer's day" for her to forget. She's a good boss. I want to get her something nice. Usually my co-worker and I go in on something, but she gave her HER present today before her vacation.
Hmmm...Lets see, you're in Tennessee? How about tickets to the Grand Ole Opry? Maybe dinner as well?

Lulu, what does she like? I love chocolate so a box of chocolates that I wouldn't buy myself is a great idea - this site has amazing chocolates - I love the fleur de something carmels. These chocolates are beautiful and delicious http://www.recchiuti.com/index.html
I am thinking either a coffee gift box or a Starbucks gift card. But I got her a Starbucks card for her birthday... She does love chocolate and coffee.
She also loves wine. Hmmm... maybe I could get her a nice bottle of wine.
I have an idea...Nancy_B just posted that she's going to Napa soon...Ask her to send your boss a case of wine from the Valley.
Now, we could almost combine these two new threads!

Personally, I hate all these special "days". Who comes up with them, anyway? It's just another subversive plot to get us to buy stuff we don't need so we can give it to someone else to add to their stuff they don't need.
But, I'd go with the dinner idea. Food's always a good choice in my book.
When the end of the world comes, I want to be in Kentucky, because everything there happens 20 years after it happens anywhere else. – Mark Twain
Lulu, you'd be surprised at how quickly Ruth's shipments arrive. I usually receive them within 3-4 days. I'm sure she'll appreciate whatever you give her.
Lulu - A pound of "Kiss of the Jumbie" coffee from Ruth will satisfy both the coffee AND chocolate issues! And for sure it's nothing she could buy for herself!
Boss's day is particularly ridiculous. The reward for being the boss is, well, being the boss. On top of getting to boss people around, you get a present?
