We went out with NHII. For some reason two non-swimmers signed up for the trip. NHII arranged for a taxi to transport all of us to and from the customs pier to the Baths. (I was very disappointed!) When we got to JVD, we rigged up a float with a noodle on each side and the non-swimmers floated in wi...

My husband (the child) is 50, I (the cradle robber) am 56. deejayjay wrote: in the last year, his dad died, both our kids got married and moved out of state, we did breast cancer, and yesterday my dog died (for real. It sounds like a bad country song) DeeJayJay, I certainly understand where you are ...

I found that people on St. John (and seemingly on the forum) drink quite a bit. I take a lot of medication and don't hold my alcohol as I did in my Navy days. On a boat excursion I was amazed at the amount of painkillers that some people drank - then went snorkeling. I ended up drinking fruit punch ...

hi, We were on the NH II tour about four weeks ago. We had a great time. Two people got on at St. Thomas and twelve others at St. John. I thought we were paying $135 each, but it somehow ended up being less. There were two non-swimmers on the boat and the crew made arrangements at the Baths to land ...

Susan, I am a great believer in Sea Bands, available at any large drugstore right next to the over the counter motion sickness remedies. These are stretchy fabric bands with a metallic button. You wear them on your wrists with the button placed over a pulse point. They start working immediately. I h...

STJ - what I didn't like
We've been home three weeks now and I realized that we took hardly any pictures. I think it was a combination of not wanting to leave a good camera in a soft-sided Jeep, there being only two of us at the beach - so we could not leave a camera behind under someone's watchful eye, and every day being ...

hi, We did not rent a dingy, but went on a Sadie Sea snorkeling trip to Henley Cay. There is a strong current from the northwest side of the cay to the southwest side. I would land at the NW side, then snorkel with the current and walk back up on the island. The coral there is absolutely amazing. Re...

Jude, In a perfect world I would want to stay on St. John and in vacation mode as long as possible. With the current way the airlines run, the smallest problem can lead to a large ripple. A large problem can lead to a major disaster. Add to that the fact you are travelling at a very busy time of yea...
